I’ve been lucky to have mentors throughout our life that saw the benefit of taking me outside. They fed my naturalist fires that’s for sure. However when it comes to keeping a nature journal, well that was hit or miss. I always had an excuse. I know exactly when the idea of keeping a journal became a craving. I was field sketching near a lighthouse in Canada while in graduate school 2012. I knew the idea of nature journaling was important, but it ebbed and flowed until then. Now I can’t go a day without spending time outside and in my journal. I hope my passion reminds you to start…..and stop….and start again. It’s about the adventure. Let’s take one together!
